The Witch's Wand; Tree Magic & Sacred Rituals E-Course
Posted on March 10 2019
As a child I spoke directly with the spirits of trees, and also with the faeries who lived within their trunks. I collected fallen leaves, twigs, seed pods, and bits of bark...and also many long branches that I waved around in the air, innately sensing the power they contained. Many years later as an adult, I had a profound dream in which I was standing high upon a rocky cliff, overlooking the ocean, and in my hand I was holding a large, heavy wand made of a strange, glowing wood. I raised the wand upwards towards a stormy sky, and said in a loud voice; this is the male, and then I lowered the wand, pointing it towards the earth and said; this is the female. At that moment I felt a surge of great power go through me, and through the wand, and then - the dream was over. I woke shivering with the drama of it all, and felt very curious about what I had just experienced. After a bit of research, I found that what I had performed in my dream was an ancient magical rite of consecration, and dedication for wands, and that this was also a rite of passage for a witch. Delighted, and intrigued, I knew then that my journey with wands, wood, trees...and magic had begun in earnest.
One of the most powerful of all magical tools, the energy transmitted from a wand can be directional or radiating, and so a wand can be used to draw a sacred circle, a sigil, a sacred name, to draw energy towards you, send energy from you, and can also direct the flow of natural energy around you, such as wind, water, and fire. Wands are generally associated with the element of air, and aether, and also with the associations of the particular tree that they are made from, and so I have chosen six very potent, and sacred woods to feature in this course.
Over the next six months I will take you on a journey with each of the sacred woods, and show you the ways can you can work with them for ritual, magic, blessing, healing and power.
