Rich Witch Part 2: Money Magick That Actually Works

Rich Witch Part 2: Money Magick That Actually Works

Last week, we talked about unfucking your money energy. This week, we're doing the actual magick. But fair warning: there are still some energetics we need to cover, because if you skip them, your spell is dead on arrival.

If you haven't read or listened to Part 1 yet, go do that first. Seriously. The energetic work we covered there is the foundation everything else sits on.

First Things First: Get Specific

The most common mistake in money magick isn't using the wrong herb or lighting the wrong candle. It's sending vague, directionless energy out into the world and expecting it to know what to do.

"I want more money" is not a spell. It's a wish. Magick needs direction.

Think of your intention as a GPS. The more specific you are about where you want the money to come from, the cleaner the path for that energy to travel. Vague intentions can result in money showing up in ways you didn't expect and didn't want. A payout from a car accident is technically money. So is an inheritance from a loved one's passing. If you don't direct the energy, it takes the path of least resistance, and that path isn't always the one you'd choose.

So get specific. A raise at work. More sales in your business. A refund you're owed. Reduced debt. New aligned clients. Debt reduction is a big one people overlook: if your expenses drop, that's just as powerful as money coming in. Case in point: while I was doing money magick and Colin was auditing our business expenses and plugging the leaks, we got an out-of-nowhere email from our landlord with a $900 property tax refund. That's magick and mundane working together.

Also add an ethical clause to every money spell. Something like "may this come to me with harm to none and for the highest good." It's your get-out-of-jail-free card. It keeps the energy from finding shortcuts you're not comfortable with.

Timing and Correspondences (The Fun Part)

I'm a feral witch. If you feel called to do money magick on a Tuesday in a waning moon, do it. You know your energy better than any book does. That said, working WITH the natural flow of energy is just easier, like paddling with the current instead of against it.

For moon phases, the waxing moon (new to full) is for drawing money in. The full moon amplifies and charges your spell. The waning moon (full back to dark) is deeply underrated for money magick; use it to reduce debt, dissolve scarcity mindset, and release the blocks that are keeping money from flowing to you.

For days of the week, Thursday is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion, luck, and long-term finances. Great for any money magick. Wednesday is ruled by Mercury, the planet of merchants and communication. If you're a small business owner looking to sign clients or land contracts, Wednesday is your day.

Correspondences by Intention

For money fast: Cinnamon, ginger, allspice, bay leaf. Write your intention on the bay leaf and burn it. Simple, effective. Gemstones: aventurine and pyrite. Colors: orange and yellow.

For long-term stability and wealth that sticks: Thyme, basil, patchouli, vervain, chamomile. Grab the thyme, basil, and chamomile right at the grocery store; that's the same stuff. Gemstones: tiger's eye, moss agate, tree agate. Color: brown, for grounded, rooted, lasting wealth.

For attracting money and opportunities: Honeysuckle, red clover, nutmeg, clove. Gemstones: lodestone, jade, citrine. Citrine is the business money stone. Just make sure yours is actually citrine; real citrine is pale lemon yellow, not orange. If it's orange, it's heat-treated amethyst.

General money magick: Basil, patchouli, thyme, cinnamon, chamomile. Green and gold candles and gemstones.

Money Tools

Money bowls, spell jars, money bags, dressed candles, sigil work, and money drawing oil. All of it is valid. One of my oldest practices is dotting the four corners of my paper money with money drawing oil so that as I spend it, it comes back. No cash? Dot the four corners of your debit or credit card with the intention that money flows out and flows right back.

But here's the thing I want you to remember above all else: the tools are not the magick. YOU are the magick. The candle, the herbs, the gemstones, they're containers for your intention. They work because every time you see that little money bag in your purse, you're reminded of your own energy and your own desire. That's the spell working. Don't ever blame a purple candle for a money spell that didn't land. Something bigger is going on.

The Energetics That Make or Break Your Spell

You cannot cast powerful money magick from desperate energy.

Desire and need are not the same thing, and your body knows the difference. Try it right now: say "I desire money." Feel that? It's expansive. It's a little playful, maybe even a little naughty. Magick lives in that energy. It comes from your sacral chakra, the center of desire, creativity, and sensuality. Money magick is supposed to be FUN.

Now say "I need money." Feel how that contracts you? Need always has a comma after it. "I need money because..." and that because is always fear. Need grips. Desire opens.

If your spell feels like begging, it's not magick. It's desperation with a candle on top.

So before you cast, shift your energy. Put on your fanciest outfit. Throw monopoly money in the air and make it rain. Laugh. Play. Feel luxurious and abundant, even if it's fake money and a tiara. Fake money in spells works. Pennies work. Whatever makes you feel wealthy works. THEN cast your spell.

Mix the Magick with the Mundane

You still have to take action in the physical world. Money magick speeds things up and opens doors, but you have to walk through them. Apply for the job. Raise your prices. Launch the thing. You cannot win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket.

The Three Things That Must Be in Place

If you take nothing else from this two-part series, take this. Money magick works when three things are in place:

1. Clear intention. You know what you're calling in and where it's coming from.

2. Embodied energy. You feel like someone who can receive it.

3. Aligned action. You take steps in the physical world to support it.

If one of those three is missing, your results will be inconsistent at best. All three together? That's when things actually move.
