So You Want to be a Hexy Witch?
When we started brainstorming this year’s 31 Days of Samhain theme, we came up with the idea of “Hexy Witch.” So, what the hell does that mean, and how can you embody your hexiest witch this spooky season?
Hexy Witches are a little bit bad, a little bit sexy, and 100-percent authentic in who they are. Like any type of witch, the Hexy Witch mindset is gender neutral, and any witch can embody it!
Hex When Needed
Sure, curses have their place in magick, but a Hexy Witch prefers a little hex now and then. A hex is uncomfortable or disruptive, but tends to be temporary (unlike a curse, which is longer-lasting and usually requires the practitioner to feed the curse over time).
Hexes include return-to-sender spells, mirror spells (we love a good mirror box around here!), freezer spells, sour jars, hot foot powders, and some witches might even consider some defensive magick to be hexes.
Overall, a Hexy Witch takes no shit.
Mix in a Little Sexy
Whether you like to perform sex magick spells or you swipe your favorite lipstick on with enchanted glamour magick, a Hexy Witch is also a sexy one! They know who they are, what they want, and what they won’t stand for.
And if you’re looking for an iconic Hexy Witch, look no further than Lilith, the Dark Goddess of Sexuality and Feminine Power. She embodies independence, free thinking, and sexuality. One of the things that makes her so sexy, though, is that she embraces her inner demons and brings them to light. She walks to the beat of her own drum and exudes pure sexual energy.
Most importantly, she loves and honors herself above all and teaches us to do the same. If you want to know how to be a Hexy Witch, just ask, “What would Lilith do?”
Add Lots of Magick
And, of course, a Hexy Witch is a witch living their authentic life, practicing magick (not just reading about it), and looking for enchantments and abundance in all things.
Adorn yourself in gemstones for personal power or sexy magick, like Garnet, Fire Agate, Tiger’s Eye, and Carnelian. Layer on scents that evoke the hauntingly beautiful essence of witchcraft: patchouli, cinnamon, rose, jasmine, or sandalwood. Embrace the “darker” parts of nature like snakes, ravens, crows, and spiders. Basically, be your witchiest self, in the way that makes the most sense for you!
Altogether, the Hexy Witch is a witch who knows how to have fun, is a little naughty, and is unafraid to be who they truly are.
