When the Walls Come Down, Who the F*ck Am I?
I sat down to record this week's episode with no notes, no topic, and no plan, and what came out was one of the most honest conversations I've had with you all year.
Want to listen or watch instead? Scroll to the end of this post for the full episode.
Spooky Season Finally Feels Alive Again
This episode drops right before October 1st, and for the first time in a couple of years, I actually want to decorate. The last few Halloween seasons have felt weird for me, kind of blah and ho-hum. This year feels different. This year feels alive.
Part of that is the Witches' Bazaar. It started as a box concept, a hidden witchy market tucked in the shadows, and then I looked at my team and said I wanted to do it in real life. Year one, we packed about twenty vendors into our warehouse, had a line out the door for four hours, and yes, a baby rattlesnake showed up. Last year we moved to Trail Dust Town. This year we're taking over the whole thing, and my daughter is flying in from Germany to help. I haven't seen her in almost a year, so you can imagine how I'm feeling about that.
The Mirror Nobody Warns You About
This year I've done a lot of inner work. I've broken through limiting beliefs, faced fears, and stood up for younger versions of myself who built walls to survive.
Here's what nobody tells you: when those walls finally come down, you end up staring into a mirror. You see yourself stripped down, and your first thought is, "Who the fuck is this?"
That's the moment that matters. A lot of people see that version of themselves and run straight back to the devil they know. But that glimpse doesn't go away. It stays buried inside you until you're ready to face it again. The brave move is looking at that person and saying, "I don't know who that is yet, but that's me, and I'm moving forward."
Sometimes that also means deciding you're done healing a certain part of yourself. You thank it for protecting you, give it a big hug, and then either release it or let it stay without letting it run the show.
Doors Open When You Get on Track
I also shared some big news on this episode: I signed a book contract this year. I'm not sharing the topic or the release date yet, but a publishing house reached out to me because of a podcast reel. Something I made purely because I love making it opened a door I never saw coming. That's how I know I'm finally on track.
The Line That Made Me Cry
I ended the episode with a few lines from my notes app, including one I wrote in my journal during a hard moment a couple weeks ago:
"I don't keep shrinking my desires until they fit inside my current business. I expand the business until it can hold my desires."
If that sounds delusional, good. I love my delusion. If you want more on that, go back and listen to my episode on Delulu Witchcraft.
A Quick Thank You
Times are hard out there, and I see it in our cancellations. If you're still here, still shopping, or still sharing, thank you. Sharing a podcast clip or an Instagram post costs nothing, and it helps my small business more than you know.
I had a few more thoughts pop up after recording, so there's bonus content waiting on Patreon at patreon.com/inkedgoddesscreations.
