Spicy Witchcraft

Spicy Witchcraft

Spicy witchcraft is sexy. It’s mysterious. It feels a little forbidden. And it definitely adds some spice to your life. If you’ve ever found yourself thinking “I can’t do that,” when it comes to a spell, my friend, you’re in for a treat. Consider this your permission slip to try something new – and get a little spicy while doing it!

Lust Spells

We’re not just talking about sex magick here, but lust magick. The kind of spells that turn the object of your attraction into a doting, perhaps drooling, companion.

Lust is a quick, fast-acting energy, and it can help boost your confidence in and out of the bedroom. A lust spell can also help you reconnect to your body and sensuality, so give one a try if you’re feeling disconnected to yourself.

If this feels uncomfortable, remember that you can always cast a lust spell on yourself to help you feel sexy or see yourself in the best light. A lust spell can also help revive your long-term partnership when things have gotten a little “meh” or your sex drive has hit an all-time low.

Lust spells aren’t the same thing as love spells, either, so you can experiment with this magick when you’re out with the girls and you really want to attract a one-time partner for a fun evening. Because it's quick to burn out, it can be fun to try once in a while. Hey, no judgment here!

Remember, lust is about physical attraction, and you can put a “kill switch” on it to dissipate once your (ahem) objective has been met so you can go back to regular life when you need to.

Reversing Spells

I bet you’re like me and cast your first reversal spell on the playground with a sassy, “I’m rubber, you’re glue. Whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you.” Yep, we were all little witches at one point, weren’t we?

A more formal reversing spell can return bad energy to the sender. It can also help reverse the flow of luck in your life. So, if you’re feeling like things just haven’t been going your way, cast a reversing spell and send that shit back to its origin.

I like to combine a reversing spell or reversing candle with my cord-cutting rituals, too. Not only am I cutting the energetic cord between me and a toxic person, but I’m also sending that energy back to them. I don’t need that in my life!

Sour Jars

Or, you could combine your reversal spell with a sour jar! Think of a sour jar as the opposite of a honey jar. With honey jars, we’re wanting all the sweetness of life to come to the person in the jar (by the way, if you haven’t put yourself in a honey jar, I highly recommend it!).

Sour jars, on the other hand, are the opposite of sweet. They're one of the ways to put a bitch in a jar and you know we don't hesitate to do that around here. Gather ingredients that are sour or harsh, such as lemon or vinegar, rusty nails, pins, or needles, hot peppers or pepper flakes, poppy seeds to add chaos, or black mustard seeds for confusion.

Write the person’s name on a piece of paper, or print out their social media profile picture, fold it three times away from you, and pop it in the jar. You can add your own incantation, and seal it with black wax if you want. Bury that jar in the ground, toss it in the outside trash, or keep it around to give it a good shake every once in a while, to ruin the target’s day.

This is definitely one of those spells you may want to use sparingly, but if you need it, it’s effective!

Poppets

Poppets are another form of spicy witchcraft, causing chaos or pain in the target or bringing good fortune, love, and health their way. Poppets have been used in magickal practice as far back as Ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. They’re also used in Hoodoo rituals, but as long as you’re not using your poppet in a way that violates a closed practice, you’re good.

Poppets work via sympathetic magick, which involves both similarity and contagion. The poppet must look like the subject of your magick, and once it is connected, the subject and the poppet influence each other.

Your poppet can be made from cloth or wax, but you must personalize it so that it actually looks like the person you’re casting magick upon. Corn dollies are another version of this, so if that feels more aligned with your practice, make your own with corn husks or vegetation around your home.

Despite what Hollywood would have you believe, poppets can be used for both positive and negative purposes. Your poppet can be used for healing, love, and protection spells just as easily as for banishing and binding.

Mirror Spells

Finally, let’s talk about mirror spells for a moment. Mirror spells, especially a mirror box, can be an effective way of making someone else think about what they’ve done. A mirror box is basically an energetic “time out” that forces the subject (name written on a piece of paper inside) to reflect on their actions.

You can also use mirrors for scrying and casting glamour magick spells on yourself.

No matter how you choose to practice spicy witchcraft, remember YOU bring the magick to your practice.

Stay magickal,
Megan W.
