The Divine Energies of Sex Magick
We probably don’t have to tell you this, but this blog is a little NSFW, just in case it’s not apparent. Be sure to read it when you have a little privacy!
Sex Magick is one of the most provocative forms of magick (pun intended), sparking debate and sometimes hesitation. When you know what it’s really about, though, Sex Magick may become a favorite way to practice! This form of magick uses the energy built during sexual acts to direct it toward magickal intentions of your choice. Performed with a partner or solo, this form of magick is deeply personal and can have a wonderful impact on your life.
How to Practice Sex Magick
As stated before, you can practice Sex Magick with a partner or by yourself. Before you begin, set your intention for the “session.” That way, you can just focus on the act itself, and you’ll have enough attention for building the energy and sending it outward.
When you climax, visualize the magickal intention that you are manifesting and send the orgasm’s energy toward your intention. If orgasms are difficult, send your intentions out during the act of sex itself. This is still Sex Magick! If you want, you can even prepare a ritual bath afterward to extend the love beyond the bedroom, again by yourself or with another person.
By the way, did you know that orgasms send a burst of pure healing energy through all your chakras? They’re also a great stress reliever.
Divine Masculine & Divine Feminine
No matter what your gender, the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine are present in you. When these energies are activated and balanced, you likely have a healthy sense of your own sexuality.
The Divine Masculine is an active energy focused on protection, strength, drive, and ambition. When unbalanced, it can lead to an abuse of power, control issues, aggression, and the need for dominance – even within yourself. The Divine Feminine is a receptive energy focused on compassion, intuition, sexuality, sensitivity, and creativity. If unbalanced, it can lead to neediness, manipulation, and over-sensitivity.
If you are feeling any of these imbalanced emotions, it’s a sign from your mind and body that it’s craving some equilibrium. Tune into the emotion and ask your body what it needs. For instance, if you’re feeling needy, that might mean that you need a little attention and love – both things that you can give yourself. If you’re experiencing a “control freak” moment, check-in and see if it’s due to an overstimulated or out-of-balance Divine Masculine. It might be a sign that he needs some care.
It’s best to practice Sex Magick from a balanced, grounded place. Like any form of magick, make sure you’re feeling well-rested and centered before you begin. In other words, it’s probably not a good idea to try it late at night after getting home from a cocktail party.

If Sex Magick is totally foreign to you, try setting up a small altar to begin. Add some of the above suggestions and spend some time meditating at your altar. Explore your sexuality in your journal and keep it in a private place so you feel comfortable expressing yourself freely. Begin working with a goddess of sexuality or adorn yourself with red and orange clothing and rose or jasmine oil. Start slowly if this practice feels intimidating and go at your own pace.
Remember, YOU are the magick.
