Embracing Your Dirty Witch Side
Let’s talk about self-care. Sometimes self-care is giving yourself a break. And sometimes self-care is freezing a bitch in an ice spell. Yep, that’s right – sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is to be a little bit of a dirty witch. But first, what is a dirty witch?
A dirty witch isn’t evil, and she isn’t Miss Goodie Two Shoes. Instead, she’s human. She’s real. She embraces the fact that she wants to do good in the world and sometimes has to throw down a hard and fast boundary to protect herself. Keep reading!
Put Yourself First
As you embrace your dirty witch side, you’ve got to put yourself first sometimes. I know, as women, we tend to put others before ourselves – our kids, partners, pets, work, etc. But your inner dirty witch wants to remind you that you’re the most important part of your life. Without you, your life simply doesn’t work.
It’s ok to say no to things that don’t work well for you. It doesn’t make you a bad witch to put yourself first. Or to listen to your intuition, for that matter! Trust yourself and remember that you need love and care too.
It’s Ok To Want
Here’s another aspect your dirty witch side wants you to know: it’s ok to want. Whether you want more money, a better relationship, a more supportive boss, another dog…it’s ok to want these things. We’ve been taught not to want more than we have – and to be grateful for what we’ve got. And while we’re big on gratitude magick here at IGC, it’s also ok to want better. Just go after these desires in a way that aligns with your values and ethics, and you’ll be good to go.
Cleanse Yourself, Witch
Seriously, get that mess off of you and out of your space. As you become more comfortable with your dirty witch vibe, you’ll realize that cleansing yourself and your home is incredibly important. Here’s a secret: As you step more into your true self, embrace the “in-betweenness” of being a dirty witch, others will become envious and may send bad vibes your way. Let that shit go with a good cleansing as often as you need it.
And when in doubt, you can borrow my favorite dirty witch mantra: Do no harm but take no shit. You’ve got this, witch!
Blessings (and healthy boundaries!) to you,
Megan
